Anello Polychrome Vase

The desire to give new life to scraps of prized wood types led artist Vito Salerno to handcraft this splendid inlaid wooden vase. A playful, loose ring ("anello" in Italian) graces the base of the neck, adding further dynamism to the dramatic curves defining the vase's profile. Its striking pattern is achieved by gluing together pieces of maple, wenge, durmast, iroko, kevazingo, padouk, niangon, chestnut, ash, Italian walnut, Canaletto walnut, and toulipier in a captivating arrangement.
