Florence panorama Mosaic Tableau

This superb mosaic in stones was made using the Florentine commesso technique, where pieces of natural hard stones are selected for color and tones, cut by hand with an iron thread and abrasive dusts, glued together on a sketch base and finally polished. It depicts a peaceful countryside road overlooking the panorama of Florence with the red dome of the cathedral and bell tower in focus. The different shades of green, the warm yellow tones, the pale blue of the clear sky, and the vivid red of this soothing scene will add a precious accent on the wall of a living room, office or entryway.
