Seme Vase

Part of a series of ceramic vases inspired by nature, particularly the elemental organic forms, this extraordinary vase is crafted using the century-old "colombino" technique in an irregular, jagged shape that evokes that of a seed ("seme" in Italian) with a surface characterized by bulging curves and voids that alternate in harmonious succession. The colors, applied by hand with a brush, showcase gray lines marking the edges of the flaps on the black background with a glossy finish.
