Wabi-Sabi Ellipsis Tripod Vase

Inspired by the tripods (from the Greek meaning "three-footed") used in antiquity as gifts to guests or prizes awarded for athletic competitions, this decorative object is handcrafted with the colombino technique (coiling) using "terraglia bianca" with a crystal-like enamel finish. Black enamel circles decorate the surface, obtained with the englobe method, adding a striking look to this one-of-a-kind piece. The crystalline surface will develop over time distinctive cracks, marking the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi of beauty as imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Not suitable to contain water.
